Job Description – Deputy Director of Research

• Opportunity for an outstanding individual in a successful, fast growing CRO with a focus on investigative and mechanistic toxicology
• Deputy to Director of Research
• PhD in toxicological discipline
• Minimum 4 years post-doctoral experience
• Knowledge of mechanism-based toxicology, biochemical pathways
• Industrial experience essential
• Management experience preferable
• Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Mentor junior staff
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Knowledge of drug discovery / development would be beneficial

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing study designs
• Intellectual input to client issues and solutions
• International travel to meet clients and attend scientific conferences
• Liaising with clients, and managing client relationships in partnership with Sales and Operations, under the supervision of the Director of Research
• Approving protocols / reviewing reports
• Presenting and publishing when appropriate
• Optional laboratory work as well as desk toxicology
